Integration with Hardware

One of the most powerful features of ClearSCADA is its inherent ability to interface a wide range of controllers no matter which manufacturer produced them; a testament to open standards. However, if seamless integration, including remote configuration and control is required, there is no better integrated system than ClearSCADA coupled with SCADAPack RTUs.

Through ClearSCADA, SCADAPack E Series controllers can be configured and controlled remotely. This allows an operator to create and download configurations within ClearSCADA with subsequent export and archival done within the system as well. Using this facility the operator has only to configure similar RTUs once, with configuration re-use being as easy as downloading it to another RTU across the network. This is a must-have feature for projects where engineers and technicians would otherwise be forced to constantly work in the field at widely dispersed sites.

ClearSCADA 2009 Edition brings hardware integration one step closer with specialized flow run objects that support RealFLO gas flow computer-equipped SCADAPack controllers. ClearSCADA 2009 can be easily configured to retrieve flow run data accumulated in the controller on a scheduled basis and then map this data to the ClearSCADA historian. Other features include automatic time synchronization between the host ClearSCADA system and field-based flow computers, and methods for changing orifice plate and gas analysis. Small, 50 flow run systems, all the way up to large systems incorporating 2000 flow runs, are easily accommodated by a flexible selection of server licenses.
